~for what do you think i am here? is it shameful self promotion? is it to build relationships with other artists? maybe i'm just bored and need a new outlet to get out some of this garbage that fills my brain....truth is, i just want to get to know you guys. i never had a chance to be a part of anything really and it would be a nice to change to feel that.
~so far, it's been a difficult road. i understand not everyone is going to like what i do and not everyone is going to want to build relationships, but that's exactly what i'm looking for. so here's a little about myself to get the ball rolling:

*i'm a traditional artist though i went to a university and earned a bfa in graphic design with a minor in printmaking. My work leans towards the conceptual and isoteric, though what i post here is usually photography of some kind. that's purely intentional. i hold my traditional work dear and don't want it out there until i'm sure it's ready and safe.

*i am currently a waitress at what amounts to basically a souped up truck stop. not where i wish to be nor where i will be for much longer, but it's a paycheck, you know? better than sitting at home in the dark with no food and barely shelter over my head. I am also a freelance graphic designer part-time...

*i'm quite partial to the beach at night, flowers, darkness, surreal art, and i suppose the opposite of what's generally considered beautiful.....though i like some conventional beauty as well....dont get me wrong.

*i listen to a range of music....it helps bring out the "pictures"....such as acid bath, aphex twin, skinny puppy, portishead, res, ani difranco, mississippi john hurt, odetta, lady saw, amber asylum, lamb, type o negative, drain sth, neurosis, today is the day, old green day(pre-nimrod), lily allen, collide, lacuna coil....just to name a few. all these things help to influence how my artwork turns out.

*lastly, now that i've bored you to tears, i would like to thank all of you who have actually taken the time to look at more than just what; on my profile page and comment. thank you for not just saying thanks for the fav and leaving it at that. i crave some kind of criticism, good/bad, and i love you guys that provide that to me me. thank you

*god i wish i knew what i was doing....

today is the day. (like that band...they knew what was up....)i realized all was lost but everything was gained at the same time. i lost all of what used to be but gained a whole new perspective from which i can begin to draw new or at least different conclusions and inspirations. it required being a little bad but what the hell. what artist doesn't act a little out of order now and then? some more than others....anyway, i think it's time to really start pushing myself to get back into the traditional art category. photography isn't my forte nor is it my career choice...i want to leave that to the professionals:) i do love taking pictures though. nothing wrong with being a non-photographer shutter-bug. is there? so shall i go with good old stand by...charcoal and ink, or should i jump back into painting and printmaking? both i think.
as for the emoticon, it was either stumped or stupified...i opted for stumped.

Thanks for the kind words and the favs (I guess "German mothers choose" was kind of irritating for most users on DA, so it's nice someone liked it. I really like your photographs, never even owned a camera myself (wait, does the one that came along with my cellphone count?). However, going to check out more of your uploads soon.

You can't have a Real Country unless you have a BEER and an airline - it helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a BEER.
